Certain VW Group vehicles coolant expansion tank caps can be difficult to remove, due to restricted access on the vehicle as well as sticking seals due to the constant heating and cooling — they don’t want to budge! Laser Tools has just introduced a solution: a coolant cap wrench (part number 8819) specifically designed for use on the VAG OEM 2Q0121321 and 2Q0121321A caps, as fitted to various VW Group vehicles from 2008 onwards (including EV and Hybrid).

This ring-type wrench is super-slim to gain access, it fits snugly over the expansion tank cap, then is simply and easily turned by a 3/8" drive ratchet or bar.

For the professional technician, this cap wrench really speeds up this job, and the applications are extensive: Audi A1 (from 2010), A3 (from 2012), Q2 (from 2016), Q3 (from 2011), A6 (from 2018), Cupra Formentor (from 2020), Born (from 2021), Seat Alhambra II (from 2010), Mii (from 2012), Leon III (from 2012), Ateca V (from 2017), Arona (from 2017).
